The client required a camera module with strict height limitations (lens height under 6mm) and a wide lens angle (HFOV above 125 degrees). The module needed excellent low-light image quality, precise assembly to minimize image center offset, and traceability for every individual product.

This U.S.-based brand, specializing in wearable technology, sought an advanced camera module that could meet their strict size, performance, and quality requirements for low-light environments. Their focus on precision and traceability posed a complex technical challenge.
What Did Supertek Do?
Abby, Supertek’s project manager, collaborated with the client to ensure their needs were met. Supertek sourced lenses from over 50 options, selecting one with a TTL height under 6mm and a horizontal angle (HFOV) of 120 degrees that aligned with the client’s requirements.
To ensure optimal low-light performance, Supertek identified a vehicle-grade image sensor within the client’s budget that met their illumination needs. The team fine-tuned the lens assembly equipment for precision, using an integrating sphere to test the image center offset of every product, ensuring only compliant units were delivered.
Supertek also implemented laser labeling on FPCs, creating unique codes for each camera module. These codes were integrated into the production management system, enabling full traceability for every unit produced.
